The technology emulates a card in the mobile application and stores in a smartphone the “payment information” usually stored in a plastic card chip.
Due to such a solution, the customers do not have to have a bank card available, since all the payment functions are offered by a mobile device.
For contactless transactions your mobile device (with NFC and HCE support) should have Android KitKat version 4.4 or above.
